Tethered Pipeline Inspections

Canline’s Tethered Pipeline Inspections Service provides an alternative to traditional tethered inspections, that can cause damage to pipelines, particularly when it’s a challenging project with extensive pipeline that has several bends, risers, or bores. Steel cable is heavy and its weight limits how far a blow down pig or inspection tool can travel, while tethered. In comparison, we use a specialized, light weight, yet high performance, synthetic rope that is strong, flexible, and safer than steel cable. It is abrasion-resistant and wear-resistant, offering smooth consistent speed, which contributes to accurate data collection and analysis. Additionally, it mitigates the requirement of cutting and removing bends to shorten segments, which decreases the number of bell holes required.

Integral to our successful Tethered Pipeline Inspection Service is the use of our state-of-the-art Advanced Pulling Technology Units (APTU), engineered and specialized for pulling inspection tools. It features our Real Time Data Acquisition Equipment that monitors and records speed, weight, and distance in our Data Logging Record (DLR). The APTU’s direct drive hydraulic capstan system, allows for smooth consistent pulling strength at any speed, weight, and distance, making it far superior to conventional “wireline” trucks.

Free Standing Liner Installations

Canline’s Free Standing Liner Installation Service is the safe, environmental option to rehabilitate an existing pipeline at the end of its operating life. This high-tech approach allows us to pull a new pipeline inside of an existing pipeline, minimizing the ecological impact and disruption to neighbouring communities.

We use our state-of-the-art Advanced Pulling Technology Units (APTU), engineered, and specialized for pulling new pipeline liner, inside old pipeline. It features our Real Time Data Acquisition Equipment that monitors and records speed, weight, and distance in our Data Logging Record (DLR). The APTU’s direct drive hydraulic capstan system, allows for smooth consistent pulling strength at any speed, weight, and distance, making it far superior to conventional “wireline” trucks. This unit also features specialized, lightweight, high performance, synthetic rope. It is extremely strong, flexible, and safer than steel cable, which has an incredible amount of stored energy when it is under tension. The use of synthetic, lightweight rope allows for longer pulls and mitigates the potential for internal damage to the pipeline, especially where there are bends.

HDPE and PVC Pipeline Fusions, Installations & Inspections

Canline’s HDPE and PVC Pipeline Fusions, Installations, and Inspections Service was created in response to the approval of these product lines for expanded purposes and applications. An increasingly popular choice for many pipeline projects, our comprehensive service includes the ability to procure the product, ship and receive the pipe and fittings, coordinate the logistics of transportation to the work site and complete the installation. We can complete the fabrication of HDPE headers, piping spools and pre-manufactured pipeline tees. All shop fabricated fittings and spools are pressure tested and come with a full Quality Assurance and Quality Control turn-over package. Our strong relationships with HDPE and PVC manufacturers and suppliers, means our clients benefit from our preferred pricing.

Our team of professional CSA Certified and PVC Certified Fusion Technicians can be relied upon to provide their expertise, ensuring safety and quality control is met. This is inclusive of all required standards and regulations, Inspection Test Plan (ITP’s), Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOC’s) to ensure a successful HDPE or PVC installation.
